Water Baptism

We are excited that you are interested in being water baptized. Our next water baptism service will be taking place:

Wednesday, January 28th @7pm at our Wyckoff campus
 
Prior to being water baptized, we want to make sure that you understand what Bethany Church believes regarding water baptism, which is based on what Scripture tells us: 

• We believe in baptism in water by full immersion for every believer. The Biblical model indicates baptism is not a sprinkling of water, but immersion into water. 
• Water baptism represents an outward testimony of what has happened inwardly with the experience of salvation, our dying to our old way of life and commitment to live in the resurrection power of Christ, a public confession of Jesus’ Lordship in our lives, and an obedient response to Christ’s command. We believe every born-again Christian should be baptized.
• Water baptism does not make you right with God or save your soul; this is provided through faith in Christ alone. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
• The act of water baptism declares openly your decision to follow Jesus, it is an external demonstration of inner transformation. (Acts 2:38 & 41; Galatians 3:26-27)
• When you are water baptized, you are identifying yourself with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Romans 6:1-4)
• You are also being counted among the Body of Christ, the community of saints, those who trust in Jesus for eternal salvation. (1 Corinthians 12:13) 

Additionally, please note the following:

BAPTISM CLASS: All baptism candidates are required to attend a one-hour baptism class via Zoom. The class will be held on:

Monday, January 26th @7pm via Zoom

ARRIVAL TIME: All baptism candidates must arrive at the campus by 6:15pm on the night of the service.
